When organizations have events with a large number of guests, the registration of guests, drawing the venue layout plan and managing your costs can be messy and cumbersome. Evenesis makes things easier by providing an online software which helps you manage your suppliers costs, your venue layout, your invites, your ticketing and it also helps measure the success of the event by collating guests testimonials.
Here Farid Nor shares the story of Evenesis, and the evolution of Event Technology.
Q1. Where did Evenesis originate from?
The idea sparked during the preparation of the founder's wedding ceremony. From a simple approach towards event planning for his wedding, now Evenesis has blossomed into full fledge end-to-end event management system. Evenesis is constantly renewing its features based on the users' feedbacks and also investigative trial by our team in house in delivering best values to our users.
Q2: How does technology help create better run events?
Technology certainly gives some kicks to the timeline in planning for events. Event planners will notice how easy it is to prepare for the events by using technology to streamline information, automate some data collection methods, and connecting with stakeholders in events.
Event planners can use technology in developing a deeper understanding about their attendees, hence this can help them to prepare/provide better event experiences to the attendees.
Q3: How come there is still apprehension about using mobile apps in the 21st Century?
Certain paradigm shift has to take place before any technology can be widely accepted. Most of the seasoned event planners are coming from the baby boomers demography, thus this understandably results into pseudo rejection towards technology.
People are afraid of things they don't know or they don't grasp the knowledge behind it. A little bit of education is required to help these people catch up with technology. Moving forward with more participation from the Gen Y event planners, mobile technology will be most sought after tool for any kind of event.
Q4: Some event organizers are worried that the technology they use is going to fail. How can you assure these people that the technology won’t fail?
First of all, event planners must have a big picture and clear objective on how they want to adopt the technology in their event planning. They need to start seeing the technology provider not just as a mere vendor, but more like a partner in delivering the best event experience to the attendees.
Follow through with every requirement and run rehearsal if they need to - to ensure the programs work like the technology partners have promised. Hiccups may happen for example an internet bandwidth congestion, but there are alternatives in making sure this won't happen. Consult with technology partners with every possible situation and brainstorm together for solutions. Preparing for the worst can sometimes be the best way to pre-empt any failure.
Q5: What does your company have in store for event organizers in 2016?
We will automate the selection of pre-formatted registration forms to cater to the demand by sports event planners, business conference planner and scientific/academic related conference planners.
We are also in the midst of developing a new marketing feature to help event planners promote and market their event strategically. Of course we love to hear feedback from the event planners out there, so reach out to us via email or visit our website to contact us and share your insight with us.
